Founded in 2005, Cellcrypt's R&D innovation resulted in Encrypted Mobile Content Protocol (EMCP), an Internet Protocol based technology that optimizes delivery of encrypted data between mobile devices over wireless networks. EMCP solves the technical challenge of delivering reliable high-performance encryption of voice data over networks with low bandwidth and varying connectivity. By providing end-to-end cell phone encryption solutions, Cellcrypt protects against the risk of call interception over multiple segment of the call path between callers, which includes the wireless network between cell phone and base stations, fixed lines within and between carrier networks and Internet backhaul.
Cellcrypt’s encryption technology has been certified to FIPS 140-2 security standard, approved by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology. Cellcrypt's cryptography includes industry-standard high-strength algorithms including 2048-bit RSA for authentication, Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman and RSA protocols for key exchange, and 256-bit AES for voice encryption. For added security, the data is encrypted twice using 256-bit RC4 and AES.
Cellcrypt Mobile Baseline™ for BlackBerry® is in CESG CAPS evaluation. CAPS (CESG Assisted Products Service) is a UK Government Cryptographic Evaluation Service run by CESG, the UK’s National Technical Authority for Information Assurance. Achieving CAPS certification will allow UK Government departments to use Cellcrypt Mobile Baseline™ to meet their Baseline (IL3, RESTRICTED) security needs. See press release for more details.
